Interested in figuring out the most effective way to influence your representatives?

Emily Ellsworth, a Congressional staffer for 6 years, published this Storify feed on how to do so. One of her most unique suggestions is to attend a Town Hall meeting.

Staffers are the ones on the ground; the ones that determine what representatives see on a daily basis. As Emily emphasizes, there is no better way to avoid being ignored than by showing up in person. Remember to be firm but kind in your expression of your concerns and opinion. You will get more out of happy staffers than unhappy ones.

Overall, contacting representatives at their state- or district-level office is more impactful than reaching out only to their federal office.
